Yes, it's true. the VeganColumbus site admin, bbinkovitz, is getting married next year. I'm starting this blog partly to keep track of all the vendors I talk to, partly so I can review all the vendors I talk to, and partly because it really pisses me off that some piece of crap chick-lit book called 'Toss the Bride' is so high on the Google rankings for search terms 'vegan bride' because it has chapter titles such as 'The Greedy Bride', 'The Evil Bride' and, you guessed it, 'The Vegan Bride'. And then there's all this stuff about hemp/silk blend gowns that for some reason come up as well. Like, if it's got hemp in it, it's vegan, even if it's 80% dead animal secretions. Not so much.
Okay, well now that you know how I really feel, come back regularly to see how I really feel about the various Columbus-area caterers, venues, etc. that I talk to. Probably not every single review will be about specifically vegan things, but since I am now officially a Vegan Bride, I guess it's all at least tangentially relevant to veganism, or something?
Anyway, I hope you find it useful/get a good laugh from keeping up with my vegan wedding planning process.

Yes, it's very frustrating
Yes, it's very frustrating about the chick-lit - even worse is the Hollywood perception via Bride Wars and all those other movies that all women care about is giant consumption and ME, ME, ME when they are getting married.
Some of us know, that yes - it's wonderful to get married, but it doesn't define us as a woman, and we're not going to go all Bridezilla and forget our values.
Looking forward to reading the rest of your journey!
