vegan columbus: vegan living in central ohio

This year the Vegetarian Meetup Group will be celebrating Thanksgiving with one great big Community Vegetarian / Vegan Thanksgiving Pot-Luck! The Thanksgiving Pot Luck will be FREE to attend and main course and desserts will be provided! What better way to celebrate the season than with new and long-time friends from the Columbus community! This event is open to everyone -- whether you are vegetarian, vegan, or just interested in eating more meatless meals.

Where: Whetstone Park of Roses Shelter House, 3923 N. High St., Columbus (http://parks.columbus.gov/Facility.aspx?id=27864)

When: Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

For this special holiday event, several groups will be participating, including:

•Columbus Vegetarian Meetup Group
•Columbus Vegan Meetup Group
•Dayton Vegan Meetup Group
•Mercy For Animals (will have free vegetarian starter kits available)
•Sunrise Sanctuary (will provide some info on the sanctuary & upcoming events)

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 5:00 p.m. This is a free community event. You can RSVP on Facebook - RSVP is not required but will help give us an idea of the amount of supplies to bring. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=281821825169185

Food: Please bring a vegetarian (vegan preferred) side dish to share. Because this is a community-wide event, Vegetarian Group members are encouraged to make their dish vegan so everyone can enjoy. You’ll also want to bring serving utensils and a list of ingredients for your dish.

Place-Setting: To help reduce disposables, please bring a place setting (plate, fork, etc.) for yourself and each guest. You may also wish to bring your own beverage (no alcoholic beverages allowed.) Water will be provided.
