I had the best cupcake of my life at this place, and it's all 100% vegan. In their own words:
"Pattycake Vegan Bakery is a family-owned dessert bakery located in Clintonville at 3009 N. High St. At Pattycake, our first priority is delicious goodies that will satisfy the most exacting taste buds. Next we consider the effect our products will have on the health of our customers and the impact our production will have on the Earth and our community of living beings. To those ends we do many things that are surprisingly still uncommon for most commercial bakeries."Their baked goods can also be found at many local coffee shops and grocery stores.
They also make wedding cakes, which they can decorate with their own organically-grown edible flowers that they grow in a little patch behind the store. They can make multi-tiered cakes, or for a cheaper option, they can rent you a sweet multi-tiered cake stand for only $5 for the first 3 days, and deck it out with several single-layered cakes. They currently haven't found an acceptable vegan fondant recipe, but anticipate that they might be able to offer fondant within the next year or so. Stop in an talk to their chill and friendly staff about it; unlike many places, they don't jump down your throat at the mention of a wedding.
