Vegetarian Meetup at Café Bella

06/11/2011 - 11:00
06/11/2011 - 13:00

On Saturday, June 11th, we’ll visit Café Bella for a fabulous three course brunch! We'll get started at 11:00, so you'll want to arrive a few minutes early. Guests will be free to choose from a vegetarian or vegan menu that their chef will prepare specially for our group! Since the food is purchased dailly, the menu will be determined on the day of our event -- but likely candidates include vegan french toast, tofu scramble, etc.

Cost will be just $10 for adults and $5 for kids age 10 and under. Juice/coffee will be available for an additional dollar. Good company, fun conversation, and good times are all free!

According to their website, Café Bella is "an evolving concept, restaurant and catalyst for neighborhood and community development." No set menus. Food is purchased daily. And entrees are created to showcase the bounty's quality and freshness. And for us, it will also be a completely unique and wonderful opportunity to get together and enjoy a great meal together!

Columbus Vegetarian Meetup Group membership and an RSVP on the Meetup site are required to attend this event. Hope you can join us for this fun & unique dining experience!

Kafé Kerouac

Kafé Kerouac is a great little coffee shop that also serves alcohol. There are wraps in the fridge, including specifically labelled vegan and vegetarian ones. They carry Patty Cake cookies as well as a small selection of good bagels. Drinks can be made with soymilk.

Café Bella is a great little restaurant on North High street.

They have no menu, just daily specials of Mediterranean and Italian foods that include lots of fresh veggies and herbs, some of which they grow out back.

Lots of vegan foods. Notes from last time we were there:

  • Vegan falafel/hummus/tabouleh wrap had "pretty patties"
  • They sell vegan pastries from pattycake
  • Recycling for paper/glass/cans. Trash can said "DON'T THROW AWAY ANYTHING / YOU CAN RECYCLE"

As for the shisha tobacco itself, they usually use the following brands:

  • 721 Georgesville Rd, (614) 586-0693

Beans have no oils or lard added. Burritos, tortas, and tacos can all be made vegan without cheese or sour cream. Unfortunately, "vegetarian nachos" are made with cheese, but the chips and salsa are vegan. Very filling and inexpensive.
