Buckeye Donuts

Average: 4 (2 votes)

  • Located on the corner of 18th and High Street
  • 291-3923

Infamous for its 24 hour alternative music and artsy regulars; from their website: "BRING YOUR LAPTOP BECAUSE WEVE GOT WI-FI BABY! WI-FI! TURTLENECK NOT REQUIRED". Accepts Buck-ID. Old school Street Fighter arcade game. Sadly/obviously, the donuts are not vegan. Their pita bread is essentially vegan, although it does contain a small amount of sugar (like most pita breads). Their fries come with paprika and it's amazing.

Cup O' Joe

All the Cup O' Joes (Cups O' Joe?) have free wireless, and serve Pattycake vegan cookies. Of course they make drinks with soy too.

Crimson Cup Coffee

This local coffee shop has a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. They don't always have vegan pastries/muffins available, but they do often have muffins and such from Pattycake. They also make the best soy latté in town and you can watch soap operas without the sound on their big TV and sit in a comfy chair while you drink it.

Pretty much everything on the vegetarian menu is also vegan. Even thought it was pretty busy when I went in, they were really considerate and helpful about looking up ingredients to things. They understood the word 'vegan'. However, I'm not sure they actually knew what they were talking about when it came to the egg rolls (see below) and after we went through the whole vegan ordering schtick, they still put decidedly non-vegan fortune cookies on our trays.
