Lots of vegan foods. Notes from last time we were there:

  • Vegan falafel/hummus/tabouleh wrap had "pretty patties"
  • They sell vegan pastries from pattycake
  • Recycling for paper/glass/cans. Trash can said "DON'T THROW AWAY ANYTHING / YOU CAN RECYCLE"

As for the shisha tobacco itself, they usually use the following brands:

  • Hookah Hookah - Vegetarian, not vegan (the glycerin is non-animal but it contains honey)
  • Alwaha - Not vegan, possibly vegetarian (honey, glycerin of unspecified origin*)
  • Amir - Possibly vegan/vegetarian (molasses instead of honey, glycerin unspecified*)
  • Al Fakher - Not sure (they didn't have any of this on hand when I called)

* According to http://www.socialsmoke.com/ the glycerin used in shisha is normally non-animal derived.
